Log Cabin Set • Sad Update

Looks like this set won’t see the light of day after all. It’s disappointing but it happens! Though we were unable to finish dressing before cancellation, I’d still love to share what we accomplished. I was tasked with designing a hockey themed cabin with a lighthearted, competitive vibe. The set comprised three zones- porch, living room and game zone. My partner in crime/Art Director, Nicole Agredano, did tremendous work on this set including scenic work to the flooring. HUGE shout out to Anthony Nguyen for killing it as my construction lead. His crew did really great work.

Despite several unforeseen circumstances and the holidays, set construction has finished! I couldn’t be prouder of the final results.

Fun fact: I originally designed the fireplace for a shoot 4-5 years ago. It sat in storage until I tracked it down.

Log Cabin Set • Porch Roof Rises!

I’m a huge fan of designing ceilings/roofs for my sets. They aren’t as common on sets as one would think so I get so much joy when it happens.

Set Builder, Tim Kuehn, did a fabulous job constructing the vaulted porch ceiling.

Log Cabin Set • Scenic Work Continues. SO. MUCH. SCENIC.

I designed a set with so much scenic work! Art Director Nicole Agredano has applied 3 light washes to the flooring to highlight the wood grain without losing any detail. We are planning an additional layer of scenic work to the logs and river rocks after construction is completed.

Now the real fun begins.

Most of the big pieces of set dec such as the chesterfields and football couch were rentals from Lennie Marvin (Prop Heaven).

The 30’ cityscape backdrop was purchased from Schmidli Backdrops Inc.

NFL’s Tuesday Night Gaming • Studio Move-in Day!

After months of ideating and shooting a proof of concept, we are finally moving into Sunset Las Palmas Studios! We are lucky enough to be able to shoot in the same soundstage “I Love Lucy” was shot in 60 years ago. I consider that a good omen.

I couldn’t resist.

BuzzFeed Studios • Standing Kitchen Set Build

I was tasked with designing a standing kitchen set in the smallest soundstage possible for the largest team in the company. It was a fun challenge that really pushed me as a designer. With such little space, I designed each wall to have it’s own personality with a little set dec. As of 2025, the set is still in use after hundreds of productions.
